Keen to get involved? Here are the next steps in the mentor recruitment process

  1. Submit an expression of interest (1 minute to complete)
  2. Apply or upload National Police Clearances*, Working with children check* and the details of 2 references 
  3. Application outcome
  4. Induction and training sessions (Self paced online training with handbook)
  5. Start participating in program activities. 
    *The required clearances are FREE for Volunteers

Mentors need to be

  • Aged over 18 years
  • Have a National police check or the ability to obtain one
  • Have a Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain one
  • Commit to at least one mentor activity per month or as negotiated (approx 3-6 hours a month) for at least 6 months
  • Travel to various locations as negotiated
  • Undertake the induction process
  • Have lived experience with disability
  • Able to pay for your own tickets, transport, activities as negotiated 
  • Be reliable, think outside the box and have an appetite for fun!

Volunteer Management Tool

We’re trialing a Volunteer Management platform called Volaby.

This is a self guided tool to help volunteers easily work through the requirements of becoming a volunteer.
